With fall sports coming to an end and snow beginning to fall (hopefully) nordic season has arrived. Although nordic is a challenging sport that tests both the mental and physical limits of the skier it is undeniably one of the most rewarding sports. VMS is fortunate enough to have a nordic team as one of its one of  5 winter sport options. They are also lucky to have the opportunity to compete against teams from all over the state of Colorado. The team is coached by Shawn Ellenbaum and practices 4 times a week at the Vail Nordic Center from 3:30 to 5. There will be 7 races over the course of the season and an opportunity to race at states if you qualify. Unfortunately the nordic team is a little slim on athletes and needs at least 1 more girl to be able to score as a team. The boy’s team could also benefit from more athletes. No prior experience is necessary and Mr. Ellenbaum would be delighted to help anyone learn. If anyone is interested in joining, reach out to Mr. Ellenbaum at [email protected] or talk to Cami Johnson or Will Brunner.
