VMS Basketball Mid Season Update:

Fourteen games into the season the Varsity Boys Basketball team is rolling. Coming off the first state playoff berth in school history, the team’s sights were set high. To begin the season, they bested both Lake County and school rivals, Vail Christian to start off the season with a tournament win. Throughout the next twelve games, the team posted a nine and three record with some very good wins and a tough overtime loss to Caprock Academy.

The JV boys are having another great season. With a nine and two record, undefeated in league games as of February 3rd they are looking to finish the season with another 3 wins. The future of VMS boys basketball is looking promising as the JV team is made up of all freshmen and sophomores with great amounts of potential.

The Girls are currently three and seven. They had a nice overtime win vs. Caprock academy and had some tough well-fought losses to some very good teams. They are looking forward to getting some good wins in the upcoming week.

Looking Forward:

This Saturday the boys play school rival Vail Christian in a triple header at home. C team plays at 1:00 Jv plays at 2:30 and Varsity finishes off the day at 4:00. Later that week the girls play Vail Christian at home at 4:00 on Wednesday the 9th. JV, Varsity, and Girls all have games on both Friday the 11 away at Olathe and Saturday the 12 at home. The girls play at 3:00, Jv plays at 4:30, and Varsity plays at 6:00. As this is the last home game of the regular season it will be senior night and we will be celebrating their last regular-season game in the VMS colors. Following February break, boys Varsity will be competing in the regional tournament and if they have success in regionals they will move onto the state tournament. More information about these games will be available at a later time.
