The Vail Mountain School Boy’s Soccer season is off to a fantastic start. With 41 players on the teams, both Varsity and Junior Varsity, there is a large pool of talent from which to draw. This includes Goalkeeper and Senior Mason Geller, who had seven saves in the most recent match against the Lotus School of Excellence on Friday, after which the coaches named him Player of The Game. This was Varsity’s third win of the season, leading to a 3-1 win-loss record, the only loss being against the Colorado Academy, a 4A ranked school. Though VMS is ranked by CHSAA as a 2A school, the team plays up into a 3A league, and while they lost the game against Colorado Academy, they still managed to keep the other team in check, ending in a 2-0 score.

The Junior Varsity team has a one win two loss record but have managed to garner a score difference of only one goal for both losses, an impressive feat. Charlie Vidal scored twice in the Colorado Academy game, and helped keep the team in contention for the win. With an incredible coaching staff and powerful players, there is every indication that this soccer season will be phenomenal.
